CANAL+ utilizes fluxDVD to launch first download-to-burn offering for France

Paris, France - The CANAL+ Group has launched a new version of its CanalPlay video site offering over 2,000 videos including 1,300 feature length movies, including new releases from major studios such as 20th Century Fox, Universal and Sony Pictures.

The new web site now offers download-to-burn which allows consumers to order a movie for prices starting at 9.99 EUR and keep a permanent copy on their hard disk drive as well as burn a copy on a DVD playable on any DVD player.

With the download-to-burn service Canal+ is the first service in France offering real download-to-burn giving users the full content of store bought DVDs and allowing them to watch on every DVD player wherever they want.

The new CanalPlay service is based on fluxDVD which transfers the original DVD data in H.264 high profile compression which is the same video compression technology used for HD DVD and Blu Ray and thus offers an exceptionally good video quality. DVDs created from the fluxDVD can be burned with every standard DVD Burner and can played with every standard DVD player.
