Deutsche Telekom's Videoload platform partners with Sony Pictures to sell fluxDVD based download-to-own and download-to-burn movies Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has agreed with Deutsche Telekom to make its titles available though Videoload, the German telco's video-on-demand (VoD) and fluxDVD based electronic sell-through (EST) service. The service enables Videoload customers to buy SPTI titles digitally on an EST basis for retention on their PCs and burning to disc, by using the fluxDVD technology under license by ACE GmbH, Germany. The agreement covers newly released SPTI properties and selected library titles. Michael Ortlepp, Deutsche Telekom's executive producer for IPTV, said: "The studio is an important content partner for us, as we continue to expand the range of titles available on our EST service." Stuart Baxter, SPTI executive VP of European distribution, added: "Videoload has clearly demonstrated its strong track record and expertise in the effective delivery of online content. It has become a key player in meeting consumers' needs to both rent and purchase movie entertainment digitally."
